Books that impacted my life!
Hey all,
Hope everyone is fine. I am doing good, thank you!
Today, I thought of sharing some books that impacted my life heavily. They just changed my perspectives of so many things. This is why reading is so important.
1) Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight by Rujuta Diwekar
I must tell you that this is a life-changing book. Rujuta Diwekar is a well-known nutritionist and a best-selling author.
She explains in a very simple manner how food works in your body and how dieting is not good. She advises us to follow our grandmothers' way of cooking which has got lot of wisdom and balanced nutrition.
She also very beautifully explains how food has a direct impact on our mental health. She stresses on every tiny detail such as how seasoning the food, garnishing certain meals with grated coconut and coriander leaves helps.
She has written about the benefits of ghee (clarified butter) and coconut oil and the difference they bring to our body.
She also emphasizes on exercising, yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises).
Her main mantra is to eat LOCAL.
This is definitely a must read book.
2) The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz
This book is really magic. The author says if we believe we can do something, then we will find different ways to achieve it. But, in case, we ourselves do not believe that we can achieve something, then we don't go to try it with our full capacity as we would have set our mind that this is unachieveable. When once we have convinced our mind that something is not possible, we will not even take the first step towards the goal.
By just training our subconscious mind, we can do miracles.
Whoever have self-doubts, please read this gem of a book. The author has given some real-life examples of people which are very relatable.
3) Atomic Habits by James Clear
This book talks about the tiny habits of our daily life. It says not to get overwhelmed by looking at the end goal. Try to break the big goal into many tiny goals and work on it daily. It doesn't matter even if you give it 5 minutes a day. You attended it. It's an achievement. Instead of thinking of the big goal and procrastinating, try to do something about it daily. You will be surprised how the daily habit of achieving tiny goals adds up to the big goal. It's the same as compounding.
This is a great book for people who procrastinate thinking of the big goals.
4) Why We Love The Way We Do by Preeti Shenoy
This is another masterpiece book on relationships and how to handle them.
My favourite author Preeti Shenoy talks about how jealousy ruins relationships, what to do when friend-zoned, how to tell whether it is love or infatuation, how to tell if someone is too young or too old for you, does marriage take away freedom, how to handle fights in a relationship, why heartbreaks hurt so much, how to deal with a broken heart, why space is important in a relationship, how important is sex in a relationship and many more interesting topics.
I know now you are tempted to read this book. Please go for it. It is definitely worth your time and money. This book can save relationships.
So, these are some of the books that have impacted my life in a bigger way.
